Matildas superstar Sam Kerr and partner Kristie Mewis have celebrated the new year by saying “I do”.
The football power couple officially tied the knot in front of around 120 guests in a beautiful ceremony at a private residence in Perth.
The wedding caps a bumper year for the couple, who celebrated the arrival of son Jagger in May.

Photos of the night were shared by The West Australian with Kerr looking sharp in a well fitted classic black tuxedo, white shirt and a black bow tie with her hair tied back in a low ponytail.
Mewis stunned in an off-the-shoulder, long sleeved beaded white gown with a sheer but bedazzled layer draping to the floor. This was accompanied by a lace edged veil.
A host of Kerr’s Matildas teammates attended the wedding, including Mackenzie Arnold and Alanna Kennedy.
Mewis shared earlier on a podcast that Jagger would accompany Kerr down the aisle in a moment sure to leave guests with tears in their eyes.
The couple are understood to have written their own vows for the ceremony, which started later in the night to ensure everyone at the wedding could bring in the new year together.
Mewis, who has played 53 times for the USA national team, also had plenty of her teammates in attendance.
The couple are not going on a honeymoon immediately after the wedding due to Kerr’s playing commitments with Chelsea.
Kerr, 32, and Mewis, 34, first met in 2020 before going public with their romance the following year. They have been engaged since late 2023.
They initially kept their engagement quiet before sharing photos of the magical moment.
“She’s my biggest supporter, always listening to me nag and complain, all of my crazy antics,” Mewis said of Kerr.
Kerr recently returned to the field after a lengthy recovery from a serious knee injury.
After being eased back into action, the striker has found form recently, scoring twice in Chelsea’s recent 9-1 rout of Liverpool in the League Cup.
She will next be in action for the London side on January 11.
Kerr, who made her first start for the Matildas on home soil in over two years earlier this month, is expected to lead the side in March’s Asian Cup in Australia.
